Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and learn more about our campaign to improve the quality of life for the people of Milford, Orange and West Haven. It has been a privilege to work for you in the State Senate for the past four years. I am honored to once again have the opportunity to run for re-election in the 14th Senate District.

I believe the first responsibility of any public official is to tell the truth. Unfortunately, that basic trust is not shared by my opponent for State Senate who has decided to run a campaign based on fear, lies, and half-truths. During this campaign season, my opponent has not offered a single constructive proposal for improving our lives. Instead he has taken a page from the Bush, Cheney, Rove playbook and has tried to mislead and frighten you. His recent claim that I support higher taxes or that democrats have made you and your family unsafe and prone to “home invasion,” “rape” and “murder” is outrageous, and frankly despicable. Please rest assured that you and your family can feel safe in your homes and that I will continue to vote, as I always have, to keep our taxes down. With the downturn in the economy, each of us has been required to do more with less, both at home and at our businesses. Over the past four years, I have insisted that the state do the same. Over the next several years, living within our budget will be more important than ever. The state must provide basic services without becoming just one more obstacle in our way to economic recovery.

During my two terms in the Legislature, I have worked hard to create comprehensive ethics reform, keep and expand jobs in our State, increase access to quality and affordable healthcare, support our veterans, and provide more relief to our cities and towns than ever before without new taxes. While much has been accomplished, there is still more to be done.

I believe in our State, I believe in our district, but most of all, I believe in you. I believe that the hardworking residents of Milford, Orange and West Haven are worth fighting for. With a clear vision, strong commitment, effective leadership and most importantly your support, we will continue to make positive changes in Hartford. Together we will make a difference.
